WBA Foundation 2021 Wine (and Whiskey) Tasting & Silent Auction: Barrels of Fun

Raise a glass to raise up DC girls and women in need! While we wish we could see our supporters and friends in person for this great networking event and fundraiser, for the second year in a row, we will be holding the event virtually. Building on the unique and fun experience we were able to create for the 2020 event, which exceeded prior attendance and fundraising records, we are adding a whiskey tasting element to this year’s program.

Wine and whiskey samples, along with pairings, will be delivered to attendees’ doorsteps for an enjoyable evening of expert-guided tastings, accompanied by an online auction with diverse items in every price range, including pandemic-appropriate and post-pandemic items for fun and entertainment!

Event participants will have a Wine & Whiskey Tasting Kit delivered to their door (DC Metro area only). Each kit includes three wines, whiskey samplers, and sweet and savory pairings, customized to complement each wine selection. Attendees will also have access to the virtual event on October 28, including a tasting class led by Alison Marriott, Owner & Founder, Bon Vivant DC, and Stephen Corrigan, One Eight Distilling. Alison is certified through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (Level II, with distinction) and a Dame Chevalier in the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne. Stephen spent several years in the Northeast US and Europe working in organic farming, vineyard management, and winemaking before joining One Eight Distilling as a distiller and head blender.  He has a passion for creating incredible food and drink, starting with high-quality, simple ingredients, especially those with a great story. In addition to turning the rich agricultural tradition of the Mid-Atlantic into a collection of world-class spirits, Stephen is a trained educator and holder of an advanced certificate from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.

Registration also includes a door prize ticket and access to the silent auction, open from October 26 through October 28. Items include sports tickets, vacation stays, tickets to local theaters, unique experiences, and several gift baskets.
